Which season of the year does the PV system generate the highest power?

Some customers will ask why the power generation of my pv power station is not as much as in the previous few months when the light is so strong in summer and the light time is still so long?

This is very normal. Let me explain to you: it is not that the better the light, the higher the power generation of the pv power station. This is because the power output of a pv system is determined by many factors, not just light conditions.

The most direct reason is the temperature!

The high temperature environment will have an impact on the solar panel, and it will also have an impact on the working efficiency of the inverter.

The peak temperature coefficient of solar panels is generally between -0.38~0.44%/℃, which means that when the temperature rises, the power generation of solar panels will decrease. In theory,if the temperature rises by 1°C, the power generation of the photovoltaic power station will decrease by 0.5%.

For example, 275W solar panel, the original temperature of the pv panel is 25°C, after, for every 1°C increase, the power generation decreases by 1.1W. Therefore, in an environment with better light conditions, the power generation will increase, but the high temperature caused by good light will completely offset the power generation caused by good light.

The power generation of pv power station is the highest in spring and autumn, because the temperature is suitable at this time, the air and clouds are thin, the visibility is high, the sunlight penetration is stronger, and there is less rain. Especially in autumn, it is the best time of year for pv power station to generate electricity.
