Several Common Faults of Batteries and Their Main Causes

Several common faults of batteries and their main causes:

1. Short circuit: Phenomenon: One or several cells in the battery have low or no voltage.

Causes: There are burrs or lead slag on the positive and negative plates that pierce the separator, or the separator is damaged, powder removal and overcharging of the positive and negative plates can also cause dendrite short circuit.

2. Broken pole: phenomenon: the whole battery has no voltage, but the voltage of a single cell is normal.

Causes of formation: Due to the stress generated by the pole during assembly due to twisting, etc., long-term use, coupled with vibration, the pole breaks; or there are defects such as cracks in the terminal pole and the central pole itself, and the large current at the start-up moment Cause local overheating or even sparks, so that the pole fuse.

3. Irreversible sulfation: Phenomenon: the voltage of a single cell or the whole is too low, and there is a thick layer of white substance on the surface of the negative plate. Causes: ①Over-discharge; ②The battery has not been recharged for a long time after use; ③The electrolyte is missing; the short circuit of a single cell causes irreversible sulfation in a single cell.

TORCHN has produced lead-acid gel batteries since 1988, and we have strict battery quality control. Avoid the above-mentioned problems and ensure that every battery that arrives in your hand can be intact. Provide you with enough power.
